Monterey County Workforce Investment Board, California(2014 grantee: $3,000,000) proposes recruitment of at-risk youth into an intensive youth development program that reestablishes connections with education and career pathways.

Comprised of seven tested and untested components the 18-month program offers an intensive, relationship-oriented, hands-on leadership and career preparation experience.  One of the seven components of the program is Mentorship Plus; which creates opportunities for the participant to be mentored and, as an Ambassador, to become a mentor via tutoring of younger students.
